The tourism industry uses souvenirs as commemorative merchandise associated with a location.The gift shops are overloaded with these cheap, low-quality items that not only encourages tourists to buy more, but also affect the entire cultural landscape of that specific place. 


This work is part of a bigger photographic project documenting the souvenir shops in the most visited Western European countries. The project critically analyzes the touristic consumer culture through the symbol of the souvenir and raises questions on the effects it has on the planet.
